چکیده

In the determination of suitable frame sizes associated with dynamic framed slotted Aloha used in radio frequency identification tag identification processes, the widely imposed constraint Q L 2 = often yields inappropriate values deviating far from the optimal values, while a straightforward use of the estimated optimal frame sizes causes frequent restarts of read procedures, both resulting in long identification delays. Taking a trade-off, in this paper, we propose a new method for determining effective frame sizes where the effective frame size changes in a multiple of a predetermined step size, namely Δ . Through computer simulations, we show that the proposed scheme works fairly well in terms of identification delay.

Tags/s - RFID reader-tag communication throughput using Gen2 Q-algorithm frame adaptation scheme

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) became the most popular and used technology for items identification and tracking. Typical scenario of its application is a pallet of products bearing RFID tag, which passes by portal equipped with RFID antennas. In such scenario it is important to identify all tags as soon as possible. Access control mechanism widely used in RFID system is Dynamic Framed S...

Algorithm for Deriving Optimal Frame Size in Passive RFID UHF Class1-Gen2 Standard Using Combinatorial Model Boundaries

MAC level efficiency constraints of the RFID Reader-Tag communication require proper frame size selection in order to achieve maximum throughput. To set optimal frame size, one needs to estimate the number of tags. Deriving optimal frame size results in reducing time for identification of large RFID tag populations, and thus increases throughput of RFID system. In accordance with the standard D...

Novel Dynamic Framed-Slotted ALOHA Using Litmus Slots in RFID Systems

Dynamic Framed Slotted ALOHA (DFSA) is one of the most popular protocols to resolve tag collisions in RFID systems. In DFSA, it is widely known that the optimal performance is achieved when the frame size is equal to the number of tags. So, a reader dynamically adjusts the next frame size according to the current number of tags. Thus it is important to estimate the number of tags exactly. In th...

An Estimation Scheme of the Number of RFID Tags Based on Probability for Anti-Collision Algorithm

Anti-Collision algorithm based on probability can be used to estimate the number of frame slots needed at the next query round in tag identification of RFID. Each tag is equipped with a random counter to save the number that is relevant to whether the tag responds the query of reader or not. For this type anticollision algorithm, to estimate the number of tags is the most important task in the ...

Table-based Identification Protocol of Computational Rfid Tags

Computation RFID (CRFID) expands the limit of traditional RFID by granting computational capability to RFID tags. RFID tags are powered by Radio-Frequency (RF) energy harvesting. However, CRFID tags need extra energy and processing time than traditional RFID tags to sense the environment and generate sensing data. Therefore, Dynamic Framed Slotted ALOHA (DFSA) protocol for traditional RFID is n...
